Stacey Booth has been a devoted and loving pet owner for her entire life. She grew up with animals, and it shows in how she handles them. She has a special relationship with them, being able to know and remain attentive to their every need, no matter how big or how small. She has volunteered her time to the local ASPCA, worked at both a crowded, chaotic kennel and an intimate yet busy veterinary office, excelling in providing individual care as well as care for large numbers of animals in each establishment.

In 2009, Stacey adopted a 2 year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Maxx from Lab Rescue. Not only was Maxx positive for Heartworm and Lyme Disease, he was also severely emaciated and sun-bleached from being chained up outside with no shelter, food, or attention. The Lab Rescue area director, upon rescue of Maxx, immediately thought of Stacey to foster and possibly adopt him. Currently, Maxx is Heartworm-negative and negative for Lyme Disease as well. He has gained his weight back, if not an extra pound, and has a beautiful mocha coat as only Chocolate Labs can sport.

Through the very involved process of rescuing, immediately coming to love, joining forces with Maxx's vet to delicately nurse Maxx back to health, and re-adjusting Maxx's behavior to once again trust people, Stacey's passion for caring for animals was reconstituted and became a way of life for her. She has made it her personal goal to improve the lives of the animals she comes in contact with, individually and lovingly. Stacey created Tender Ruffin' Care to provide all pets with a safe, calm, and beneficial alternative to the stressful and expensive option of having to board them.
